Holy books
There are five holy books of revelation in Islam. Each of them was given by Allah to a different prophet. Muslims believe that these holy books conveyed God’s same message to humanity, which guided Muslims in their daily lives.
Quran
The Holy Qur’an is a holy book in which the teachings of Allah have been given to Prophet Muhammad. Many Muslims believe that God gave these teachings to Muhammad because not all previous religious texts were reliable.
The Qur’an deals with all people at all times in life. It is believed to have come only from Allah, making it the most important book for Muslims.
Tawrat
The Torah (also known as the Torah in Judaism) was given to Moses. It is seen as an important Jewish book. It contains ten commandments that are key to living. The Torah also includes other good teachings and laws.
Zabur (Psalms)
Zabur gave this book to David. It is also well known as the Psalms of David. This is very important in the Christian Bible and Jewish tradition because it contains prayers, poems, and songs meant to impress people.
Injil
Injil gave this book to Jesus, who is believed to have predicted the coming of Muhammad.
Sahifah (Scrolls)
This book is the first holy book of Islam. It was given to Abraham and Moses. It is believed that some parts of the right have been lost. However, some parts have been preserved and are mentioned in the Qur’an.
