The Holy Quran revealed to the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) during his 23 years of Prophethood. The Quran was revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) little by little. There are 30 verses and 114 suras in the Holy Quran. There are 558 Ruku in thirty verses of the Holy Quran. The total number of ayat in the 30 Para of the Holy Quran is 6666. The number of letters in the Holy Quran is 323760. There are two types of Surahs in the Holy Quran, Makki, and Madni. The Macan Surahs revealed to the Prophet before the emigration, and civil surahs revealed after emigration toward the Madina. The first verse of the Quran revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the sacred cave where the Holy Prophet went for worship before the prophecy.

Name Of Quran

The Qur’an introduces itself with the word al-Kitab that it is a divine scripture compiled in book form. It’s not just a collection of verbal memories. Instead, it is a formal and authoritative writing and a scriptural school. Many names besides the Holy Quran call this Book, but the most famous name is the Qur’an. Fifty –five names have counted by Allama Suyuti and some other researchers who are used in the Qur’an for this Book, for example, Al –Majid, Hakim, Mubarak, Bushrah, Azeem, Zikar, Rahmat etc.

It is worth mentioning here that there are two historical stages in the revelation of the Holy Qur’an. The first stage is when the Qur’an was revealed to the heavens and the earth at once on a blessed night of Ramadan. Then the second stage, little by little, began to descend on the Holy Prophet through Gabriel, and this went on for twenty-three years.

Its purpose is to invite to this right attitude and present this guidance of Allah clearly, distorting by his negligence and mischief. The Quran encourages man to avoid sins and to do good deeds.
